Today was grenade throwing day. I was a little afraid of this day because, back in my physical education classes, I was pretty bad at throwing. We had a standard at school – throwing a ball – and I was pretty bad at it.
But on the other hand, it was an opportunity for me to learn how to throw properly.
We learned to throw while standing, sitting, and lying down. First, they just showed us the basics of how to do it, and we tried it.
After that, everything was organized in the form of interesting competitions. Tires were placed at a certain distance, and a circle with a diameter of about one meter was drawn around the tires. You throw, and if you hit the tire, you get a prize. If you hit the circle around the tire, you don’t get a prize. But if you don’t even hit the circle, then you either do push-ups or squats, or the four of you lift a log, or do some other interesting task. With my super throwing skills, I did push-ups, squats, sit-ups, etc. 🙂
But there is a positive side to all this. At the end, instructor San said that my technique was already quite good, but I just didn’t have enough strength to throw the disc the necessary distance.
So I learned a little bit about the correct throwing technique.
