Mobilization: my journey from civilian to serviceman – Friday, June 7, 2024, day one

It was the beginning of a new stage in my life. I woke up after my second nap, as usual, around 12:00. And I saw a message from my wife on Telegram:

I have some sad news…

The village council just came to your house with a summons.

They said that you have to go to the village council by 4:30 p.m. today to pick up the summons, otherwise you will be declared wanted…

I calmly read the message and got up. The feeling was that you just don’t want to believe it. You just don’t want to accept this reality. That’s why you don’t react to it. That’s why emotionally, your soul is not calm, but rather in a state of calm.

The situation was such that life had simply pushed you into this new reality without asking anything. Yes, in my soul there was something between resentment and a reminder – “why didn’t anyone ask me anything!?”

After analyzing the situation, I realized how they had figured me out. When the orcs were near Kyiv at the beginning of 2022, I stood guard for almost two months in the territorial defense. That’s where I left my contact information. “Well, it was your choice. Anyway, you should have guessed what you were getting into,” I thought and said to myself. Of course, when I left my contact information back then, I didn’t know that almost two years later there would be a mobilization like this. But the fact that I stayed in Kyiv and went to the territorial defense was my choice, and when I made it, I realized that this choice could carry dangers and risks.

In the end, the decision was made to go and get the draft notice.

When I arrived at the village council at 4 p.m., I found out that someone had misunderstood something. It turns out that on Fridays they have a short day and work until 3:30 p.m.

My trip to the village council was postponed until Monday.
