The last, third day of TCE. On the one hand, I slept well. But on the other hand, when I woke up, I realized that I was completely exhausted, which cannot be remedied by a single night’s sleep. I gathered my strength, repeating to myself that there was only one day left.
On this day, the following program awaited us: assault and clearing of trenches, psycho-barrier, shooting in pairs from cover, shooting at low-flying objects, grenade throwing, MT-LB driving, engineering.
Assault and clearing of trenches – according to the legend, we repelled the enemy and they retreated, but several orcs remained in the trenches. In a group of 7-8 people, we had to clear the trenches. Instructors with blank cartridges and firecrackers act as several orcs. The instructors also throw a smoke grenade into the trench, and everyone must put on gas masks and go in them.
The origin of the psycho strip is similar to the first time, but now there are even more shots underfoot with blank cartridges and more grenades, also underfoot 🙂 They also added a couple of obstacles and several rubber human heads for atmosphere :). This time, I felt tired and barely made it to the end of the strip.
Shooting in pairs from cover – we also did this for the second time. Targets are set up in the form of iron gongs (so that you can hear when you hit them). Tires are placed on the way to the target to imitate cover. The essence is to work in pairs. One runs, the other covers. While covering, you need to shoot at the target. That is, you can only shoot when you are being covered, i.e., when someone else is shooting at the enemy. And so you need to run a couple of shelters ahead, and then, in the same way, organized in pairs, retreat. We worked quite well together. The instructor even told us that our pair had the best result.
Shooting at a low-flying object – a plastic bottle filled with water is raised 7-10 meters on a rope attached to a drone and swings like a pendulum. When the bottle starts moving, we start shooting. This is all an imitation of shooting at a low-flying object. The instructor’s advice is to take the first shot accurately and then just follow the target with the rest.
Seven of us were shooting, and there were only two hits. The others had similar results. Therefore, the instructors said that it is important to draw the following conclusion: do not consider yourself Rambo, as it is almost impossible to hit anything with a regular automatic weapon. Therefore, either shoot as a group or do not shoot at all so as not to reveal your position.
Throwing grenades is a fairly simple task, nothing to write home about.
Testing the MT-LB – Basically the same as before. Only instead of blank cartridges, there were bangs. But the point was that the second time, at the end of the course, we did everything better and more correctly.
Engineering – the last exercise. The exercise was interesting, but it was the last one and was done in the open sun. Special training mines were buried. We had to use the ramrod from our assault rifle to check the ground and mark where we could step.
That was it. We could finally breathe a sigh of relief… First, I went to the tent, took a towel and soap, and went to wash up. I was covered in sweat and dust. Then I ate two mivinas and lay down to rest.
The TCE was complete.
