Tonight, we all took part in a sacred ritual – cleaning our weapons. We all sat down near the tent and turned on some beautiful Ukrainian music. We had purchased a special cleaning agent in advance – Ballistol.
We sat down, placed something in front of us to put the parts on, and began. Everyone took apart their automatic rifle, sprayed it with Ballistol, waited 5-10 minutes, and then began cleaning. It was somewhat similar to a ritual performed by Buddhist monks.
After cleaning, when I slung my rifle over my shoulder, I felt like it had become a little closer and dearer to me. The more we care about something, the more we begin to love it.
